There will be no Parliament Hill Toastmasters Club meeting on November 11, Remembrance Day, since the Ottawa Public Library is closed that day. We look forward to seeing you all again the following week, on November 18. |

Usually a meeting cancellation would be seen as a bad thing. But not this time! On Thursday, October 28 the regular Parliament Hill Toastmasters meeting is cancelled so that our members can go cheer Dave on at the Division D Humorous Speech Contest. The Division D Humorous Speech Contest takes place October 28 at 6 PM, at the CMHC building, 700 Montreal Road. Good luck Dave, and let's all show up to cheer him on! |

On Thursday, October 14 the regular Parliament Hill Toastmasters meeting will be cancelled. Instead, all members are encouraged to attend the Area 30 Humourous Speech Contest and cheer on Dave as he presents his speech "Travelling with Mr. Bojangles." For those who have never had the opportunity to watch a speech contest, you do not want to miss this. What: The Area 30 Humourous Speech and Evaluation Contest When: Thursday, October 14, 2010 @ 6:00 PM Where: Room FC27 Craigellachie Place de Ville

Nancy, the current VP Education and incoming President, was recently awarded the "Parliament Hill Toastmaster of the Year" Trophy by Club President, Victor Motora. She was awarded the trophy due to her commitment to the club and the Toastmasters program. She was also recognized for bringing new ideas into the club from experience gained attending District, Regional and International events and learning the standards of Toastmasters. Her ability to get things done in her quiet manner was also noted. |
