Final meeting of the summer will be at Kirran Express Restaurant Parliament Hill Toastmasters will be welcoming International Director Sue Dalati, DTM, to our wind up meetng to be held upstairs at Kirran Express Restaurant, 228 Albert St. (at Bank). Sue will be giving a presentation as well as inducting the new officers for 2011/12.
Kirran Express is an All You Can Eat Sushi place which also offers other Asian foods for those who may not be lovers of this Japanese specialty. It is a quiet place and we will be able to enjoy Sue Dalati's presentation as well as the Installation of our new officers for next year's executive. Come celebrate the successes of our club and our members for the past year. |

Craig is a professional speaker, consulting, and writer, and will presenting 5 Steps to Impact — Speech Writing Quick and Eas(ier), a 45 minute workshop designed to take the pain out of speech preparation. |

Congratulations to Dave for winning the Area 30 International Speech Contest on Tuesday, March 15! There were 3 other strong competitors but Dave prevailed with his "Are you comfortable?" speech and will go on to represent the Area at the Division D contest on March 29. Parliament Hill Toastmasters was also represented on Tuesday evening by Carolyn, who competed in the Table Topics contest with 4 other competitors. She gave a fine performance, answering the question "How would winning an international speech contest change your life?" |

Congratulations to Carolyn for winning the Club's Table Topics Contest and to Dave for winning the International Speech Contest. Congratulations also to all the participants for making the contests a great success. **** NOTE NEW LOCATION **** The Club winners now compete at the Area 30 Contest to be held at 6:00 pm (contestent briefings at 5:30 pm) on 15 March at the Sandy Hill Community Centre, Main Hall, 250 Somerset Street East (east of the Canal). On Thursday, February 10, Parliament Hill Toastmasters will be holding their annual International Speech and Table Topics Contest. We have a full slate of contestants this year, so come on out to hear some great speeches and cheer on your favourite speakers. Remember, the winners of this contest will go on to the Area 30 contest on March 15! |
